IBM Share, CA’s Mainframe 2.0
ADC Austin Tech just finished a successful exposition at the IBM Share conference, with partner Semantic Designs. SHARE’s first conference of 2009 took place March 1-6 and drew more than 1,400 enterprise IT professionals to the Live Music Capital of the World - Austin, Texas, for nearly a full week of education and networking. Located at the Austin Convention Center, SHARE provided not one, but three keynote speakers during the conference, including Miles O’Brien, Karl Freund and Paul Borrel.

At the event, ADC Austin Tech was supporting CA’s Mainframe 2.0 initiative, with many discussions and demos of CA Repository meta-data management software for zOS and Distributed. There seems to be a growing interest in managing software assets using tools like CA Repository and SDSourceScanners (a tool to load OO and convention software into CA Repository). The ROI around managing software assets can be compelling - one study showed that 30% of an analyst’s hour is spent simply finding the right software files to analyze.
Here are some photos of the event.
